Highlights
The University of Northern British Columbia is a welcoming learning environment situated in Canada. Established in 1990, UNBC is a research-intensive university set amongst the landscape of Northern British Columbia.
It is known as Canada's Green University for its energy initiative, teaching, research, and day-to-day sustainability. UNBC is proud to welcome people from all backgrounds through its doors, with its motto 'En Cha Huná translating to 'respecting all forms of life'. Hundreds of international students enrolling on its high-profile courses every year. The on-campus housing accommodates over 500 students. The Neyoh and Keyoh buildings offer fully-furnished apartment-style living close to the academic buildings on campus.
Each building includes laundry facilities, large common areas, study halls, WiFi, and games rooms. All bedrooms are individual, equipped with a personal desk and bed. The living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms are shared between housemates.
Resident Assistants on the Residence Life Team provide educational and social events programming for students living in housing on campus. The Northern Sports Centre contains a gymnasium, fitness centre, indoor track, and other spaces. The Bentley Centre: This building houses classrooms, laboratories, and offices. It is a central hub for academic activities. The Geoffrey R. Weller Library is a huge development filled with large resources. The Academic Success Centre is situated in the Learning Commons on the first floor of the library. It offers drop-in tutoring services and online support. Over 60 academic, cultural, social, and service student-led organisations are run by students at the university. The international office at the university ensures students receive a warm welcome via providing visa support, advice and orientation programmes. The UNBC campus is notably green, with over 30 km of trails providing a scenic environment.
